Growing in Christ is a lifelong journey, shaped by worship, service, study, and prayer. At St. Thomas, we gather often to learn together. Here are some of our adult formation offerings.

Sunday Mornings

Perspectives
Sundays at 9:30, 
A gathering to explore Christian teachings in church and society. Recent topics include "The Faith of a Mockingbird," presentations from our outreach partners, global mission guests, and conversations about race.
 
Lectionary Study
Sundays at 9:30, year-round
A study of the scripture lessons read in worship each Sunday.
 
 

 

Wednesday Evenings

Wednesday Studies
Wednesdays at 6:30, mid-August - mid-May
 
We Make the Road by Walking - Perrin Nicolson leads Bible Study and conversation each Wednesday in the Library. The group will use the book We Make the Road by Walking by Brian McLaren. Each week we will look at Old and New Testament passages and share in learning together.
 
Good News for Parents
The story of Jesus is Good News but what does this news mean for parents today? Join this group that will meet for informal conversation in the Parlor about the Gospel Lesson each week from 6:45-7:45.

Rector's Study Group
2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 1:00
Recent Studies include Verna Dozier's 
The Dream of God, The First Christmas by Borg and Crossan, Mudhouse Sabbath by Lauren Winner, In God's Presence  by Marjorie Suchocki, and The Prodigal Son 
by Henri Nouwen.
 
Pub Theology
Last Tuesday of each month, 7pm at Nonic on Broad
Pull up a chair. Have a beer. Converse with friends and strangers. Explore life and faith.
 
St. Thomas YA's
This group for young adults meets two to three Sundays a month to live out the baptismal covenant together through prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and witness.
 
St. Thomas Parents of Babies and Toddlers
This group exists to help St. Thomas parents of babies and preschoolers connect with one another. We meet monthly for a meal, fellowship, and learning together.
 
Prayer Group
Mondays at 11:30 in the Chapel
The group gathers weekly for quiet centering prayer and to pray for the congregation's prayer list.
 
Saints and Sinners
First Friday of most months at 11:00
This group meets for Eucharist followed by lunch
