Growing in Christ is a lifelong journey, shaped by worship, service, study, and prayer. At St. Thomas, we gather often to learn together. Here are some of our adult formation offerings.

Sunday Mornings

Adult Forum
Sundays at 9:30, mid-August to June
A gathering to explore Christian teachings in church and society. Recent topics include "The Faith of a Mockingbird," presentations from our outreach partners, global mission guests, and conversations about race.
 
Lectionary Study
Sundays at 9:30, year-round
A study of the scripture lessons read in worship each Sunday.
 
Families First
First Sunday of the month at 9:30, October to May
A gathering for parents. Recent topics include fostering a love of Bible stories, positive parenting strategies, and helping children deal with grief.
 

 

Wednesday Evenings

Wednesday Studies
Wednesdays at 6:30, mid-August - mid-May
 
Recent topics include a series on Islam, Bishop Curry's book Crazy Christians, and "Stewards Lectionary Project" looking at scripture and prayer for care of creation.

Rector's Study Group
2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 1:00
Recent Studies include Verna Dozier's 
The Dream of God, The First Christmas by Borg and Crossan, Mudhouse Sabbath by Lauren Winner, and In God's Presence 
by Marjorie Suchocki
 
St. T's 20's
This group for young adults meets two to three Sundays a month to live out the baptismal covenant together through prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and witness.
 
Prayer Group
Mondays at 11:30 in the Chapel
The group gathers weekly for quiet centering prayer and to pray for the congregation's prayer list.
 
Saints and Sinners
First Friday of most months at 11:00
This group meets for Eucharist followed by lunch
