Stewardship 2023: The St. Thomas Story

Let’s take a moment and give thanks that St. Thomas has come through the recent years remarkably well and is moving forward in significant and exciting ways! Thanks to all of you who have made possible our witness, our provision for our parish and community, and our embracing of new opportunities.
- The addition of new pastoral staff enables us to meet the growing needs of our congregation.
- A strategic planning committee has been meeting monthly since January to consider the needs that come with rapidly evolving opportunities to serve, to examine some questions that were on the back burner, and to propose faithful but bold steps into the future.
- Your giving – and the many gifts received above and beyond the current budget – enabled us in the past year to pay off the church’s line of credit, add to the endowment for future generations, renovate the parish hall, and address urgent needs for roofing, HVAC, windows, and waterproofing our building foundation.
Thanks be to God!
Our Stewardship Committee decided to focus this year on sharing the “St. Thomas Story” with our wider community. “Love God. Love Every Person. Learn and Serve Together.” summarizes our mission. We created a new promotional piece to share with newcomers and at community events. Let us know if you'd like to have one sent to you!
Even with so many great things happening, our Finance Committee and Vestry recommend a budget for 2023 equal to that of 2022 that anticipates cost of living and inflation. We know that the economic picture is more difficult now for some of our church family, some may need to decrease their financial giving this year. If you can provide extra financial support in the year ahead, please do. We continue to invite gifts above your pledge to the Continuing Faithfulness Capital Fund so we are prepared to address major capital needs as they arise. There is still more to be done, and we are determined to meet these needs in stride with a reasoned and forward-looking approach.
St Thomas is a blessed community of the faithful. We look ahead with confidence that God will provide what is needed in the year to come, with your support.
