Flower Guild

The giving of Altar Flowers on Sunday is a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion or remember our loved ones. In addition to enhancing the beauty of worship, the name(s) of those being honored or remembered and the name(s) of the donor will be listed in the Sunday bulletin.

How to Sponsor Altar Flowers

Flower Guild
Flowers help create a beautiful and prayerful space for worship, reflecting the beauty of God’s creation and marking the seasons of the Church year. Through the Flower Guild, volunteers share their creativity and gifts to prepare floral arrangements that enrich our worship each Sunday.

Our Flower Guild is coordinated by Sara Ginter, who organizes volunteers to create arrangements for the Chapel and Nave. Flower Guild arrangements are designed using seasonal flowers and greenery chosen by the team. Ralph Wimberly serves as St. Thomas’ Floral Artist in Residence, creating custom arrangements for Sunday worship, funerals, and other special occasions.

There are two ways to sponsor altar flowers:

Flower Guild Arrangement — $100
The Flower Guild will create seasonal arrangements using locally available flowers.
Artist in Residence Arrangement — $150, plus the cost of flowers
Donors may request specific flowers or colors for a custom arrangement designed by the Floral Artist in Residence. These arrangements are also used on feast days and other occasions that call for particular liturgical colors.
Flowers may be given in thanksgiving, celebration, honor, or memory of loved ones, with acknowledgements included in the Sunday bulletins. Sponsorships should be reserved at least two weeks in advance.

Following worship, donors are welcome to take some or all of the arrangements home and return the containers later. Remaining flowers are often repurposed into smaller bouquets that are shared as pastoral care gifts throughout the week.

If you enjoy flowers, creativity, or working behind the scenes to prepare for worship, we’d love to have you join the Flower Guild. New volunteers are always welcome and can sign up through Ministry Signups or by contacting Sara Ginter.
