About John
Father John came to St. Columbus in April of 2026 to be the Associate Rector for Pastoral Care. This role includes supporting a team to provide pastoral care in the parish, together with the Rector being a sacramental presence in times of transition and need, and offering support to every parishioner as they explore their relationship with God in Christ. He is also very happy to do other duties as they arise.
Though ordained a priest in 2005, John already had a great deal of experience in ministry teaching, leading youth, singing, doing outreach, working for LGBTQ+ inclusion, and in leadership roles, both volunteer and on staff, at parishes in both the US and England. This includes three years living in Liverpool in a Community of L’Arche. L’Arche is an international federation of communities where Intellectually disabled persons and others work, pray and live together. He was also a missionary school teacher in Honduras, and can converse in Spanish and French.
John has a wide breadth of education, work and ministry experience in the US, France, England and Honduras. He has served parishes as a priest in New Jersey, New York, Mississippi, and Georgia. The thread holding his education and ministry together is a profound sense of God’s love and care, and the desire to share that with as many people as possible.
Profoundly happy to be an Anglican Christian, he enthusiastically promotes contemplative prayer, intentional spiritual practice, and Benedictine and modern Celtic spirituality. His recreation time is spent reading, walking, cooking, dallying and hanging out with Edward, his feline best friend. Please introduce yourself. He would love to meet you.
