A message from the
Stewardship Committee

The passing of the offering plate is an act of worship.  During the time of offering, offer your prayer of thanks to our God who loves us and is faithful to care for our needs. You might even hold the offering plate, just a moment longer, in this act of worship.

Thank you for your support of worship, learning, and service at St. Thomas! Whether you have made a financial pledge, contributed to the offering plate, or used online giving, every gift matters.

We hope this info helps you better understand our church budget, how we use the resources we are given, and the importance of pledging. Please feel free to ask any of us questions, and we are happy to arrange a personal meeting with a stewardship volunteer upon request.

With gratitude,

FAQs About Pledging

  • What is a financial pledge?

A pledge is simply an estimate of what you hope to give to support the ministries of St. Thomas in the year ahead. A pledge is not a binding agreement. It can be changed at any time – just contact our Director of Parish Administration, Patty Slembarski ([email protected]).

  • How much should I pledge?

We encourage your prayerful consideration of this question. What is thoughtful, sustainable and meaningful to you may be a good starting point.

  • Does anyone know what I pledge?

We never publish amounts or levels of giving. Only the parish administrator and the rector have access to that information. Our annual report, published in January, includes the names of all who made a pledge to St. Thomas, unless you prefer to remain anonymous.

  • Why should I consider increasing my pledge?

St. Thomas is multiplying in participation and impact. Needs around us are multiplying, and we want to respond. Basic costs to operate are multiplying. Sadly, in the past year, we lost some beloved parishioners, many of whom pledged faithfully. Our finance committee anticipates needing an additional $150,000 to support our ministries in 2027. All who are able to increase their pledge will help us meet this challenge.
