There’s a place for you here.

At St. Thomas, we believe church is more than a place you attend on Sunday morning. It’s a community where we grow in faith, build relationships, care for one another, and serve our neighbors.

Our mission is simple: Love God. Love Every Person. Learn and Serve Together.

Being a member of St. Thomas means making this community your church home. It means finding ways to connect, participate, grow, and share in the life of our parish. It means being part of something bigger than yourself and helping us live out our mission together.

But membership doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. We’re all in different seasons of life, with different gifts, abilities, schedules, and ways of participating. There’s room for all of that here.

What Membership Means

  • Belonging. You consider St. Thomas your church home and are part of this community.
  • Growing. You make space for worship, prayer, learning, and spiritual growth.
  • Participating. You find ways to connect with parish life through worship, fellowship, formation, or outreach.
  • Giving. You support the life and ministry of the church through your time, talents, and financial gifts, according to your circumstances and abilities.
  • Serving. You look for opportunities to share your gifts and help us care for one another and our wider community.
  • Connecting. You build relationships, celebrate together, support one another, and walk alongside each other through life’s joys and challenges.

What Membership Does NOT Mean

  • You don’t have to have everything figured out. Faith is a journey, and questions, doubts, and curiosity are welcome.
  • You don’t have to attend every Sunday. We understand that life is busy, complicated, and sometimes unpredictable.
  • You don’t have to serve on a committee or volunteer for everything. There are many ways to participate, and you get to find what works for you.
  • You don’t have to give a certain amount of money. Every gift matters, and we encourage everyone to give in a way that is meaningful and sustainable for them.
  • You don’t have to look, think, or believe exactly like everyone else. We are a diverse community, and we believe there is room for everyone at God’s table.
  • Can I Participate Without Being a Member?

You do not have to be a member to worship with us, attend classes or formation opportunities, participate in fellowship, volunteer in many of our ministries, or get involved in the life of the parish.

You are welcome here whether you’re visiting for the first time, exploring faith, returning to church after time away, or looking for a new church home.

You don’t have to become a member to be welcome here. But if St. Thomas feels like home, we’d love to help you make it official.

  • How Do I Become a Member?

The first step is simple: complete our online “Joining St. Thomas” form. This gives us some basic information so we can get to know you, connect you with the parish, and help you take the next steps toward membership.

    Joining St. Thomas Form

Once we receive your form, someone from the church office can follow up with you, answer questions, and help with any necessary records or next steps.

If you’re transferring from another Episcopal church or another Christian denomination, or if you’re new to Christianity, we’ll be happy to walk you through the process. You don’t have to figure it all out before reaching out.

  • What About Baptism and Confirmation?

In the Episcopal Church, baptism is the sacrament through which we are welcomed into the Christian community and become members of Christ’s body, the Church.

You do not have to be baptized, confirmed, or received into the Episcopal Church to visit St. Thomas or participate in many aspects of parish life.

Confirmation and reception are additional steps for those who wish to make a mature affirmation of their faith or formally enter the Episcopal Church from another Christian tradition. If you’re interested in learning more, we’re happy to talk with you about those opportunities.

  • What About Families and Children?

We love welcoming families at St. Thomas! Membership is not just for individuals. Families can make St. Thomas their church home together.

Do I need to fill out a separate form for each of my children?

No! You do not need to submit a separate Welcome Form for every child. Parents or guardians can provide their children’s information along with their own when completing the family information on the form. If you have questions about how to include everyone in your household, just contact the church office.

Do my children have to be baptized to participate?

No. Children are welcome to participate in Sunday School, youth activities, worship, and parish life whether or not they have been baptized. If your family is interested in baptism, we’d love to talk with you about that next step.

What if only one adult in our household wants to become a member?

That’s perfectly fine! Membership is a personal commitment, and every person can take that step in their own time. One person can complete the form without requiring the rest of the household to become members.

What if we’re coming from another Episcopal church?

Welcome! We can help arrange a transfer of your membership records from your previous parish. Just let us know where you were previously members when you complete the form.

Is St. Thomas Your Church Home?
